You know you can drag-and-drop a graphic or text file into InDesign from the Finder, Windows Explorer, or Bridge.

But if you drag the file on top of an empty frame, InDesign fills that frame with the incoming file. If that’s not what you want to do, hold down the Command/Ctrl key while dragging.

This forces InDesign to create a new frame for it.
