In this tutorial you will learn how to quickly convert photo of your choice to sketch. The goal of this tutorial is to let you do what you want with knowledge learned through this tutorial.

Step 1

Open the image you want to convert to sketch. We will use this one:

Now press CTRL+A to select entire image, then press CTRL+C to copy it, and finally press CTRL+V to paste it as new layer.

Step 2

Then desaturate that new layer (Layer 1) by holdin SHIFT+CTRL+U on keyboard.
While “Layer 1″ is still selected in layers palette click on Image > Adjustments > Levels (or simply press CTRL+L).
Adjust the settings to brighten up the image and loose that background, you can see our sample for levels change for this particular image below:

Now our image of headphones would look like this:

Step 3

Press “D” on keyboard to reset colors to black-white.
Click on Filter > Artistic > Poster Edges and make the settings there as on this image:

Step 4

Change the blending mode of that “Layer 1″ to luminosity. As on this image below:
